The Elephant Festival

The International Kite Festival

The event marks the festivity of Makar Sankranti. It is an Indian event, which gladly receives the arrival of the spring. It starts on the day of Sankranti at the Jaipur Polo Ground where Indian Air Force helicopters release kites in the sky and children release balloons from the ground. A kite flying competition is also organized where participators strive for their kites’ design. On the last day, the kite fight is held and the winner is awarded.

The Jaipur Literature Festival

It is an annual literary event, began in 2006. The small ethnic Hotel Diggi Palace serves as the venue and beckons over 30,000 literary lovers to embark on Jaipur tour. In 2006, it started as a part of the Jaipur Heritage International Festival and then it became an independent event in 2008. Since then, it has been celebrated with great interest.
