Rajasthan Forts-The Living Relics of History

Speaking volume about its history and royalty, Rajasthan forts are the true specimen of marvellous architecture. Jaisalmer Fort

A huge sand castle emerging from the sandy plains like a fantasy from a bygone era, Jaisalmer Fort offers a spectacular sight to visitors. Ninety-nine giant bastions envelop the narrow streets. Also known as Junagarh Fort, Bikaner Fort is an imposing fortress, which has endured the ravages of time and has remained undefeated since flowing times. The majestic fort of Northern India is enveloped by a moat and comprises of 37 palaces as well as pavilions. It is protected by 37 citadels and houses two entrance gates-the Suraj Pol or Sun Gate and the Karan Pol.

Chittorgarh Fort                  

Lying in the royal state of Rajasthan, Chittorgarh Fort was constructed between the 5th and the 8th century by Chitrangad, the Mori Rajput ruler. At that time, it was known as Chitrakot.

The fort has also witnessed three blood-soaked sieges. The walls and the surroundings are still frequented with the misery of despair, heroic pride of the queens and chivalry of the men who denied surrendering before the enemy. The entrance of the Chittorgarh houses seven huge gates. The two towers include 'Kirti Stambh' or the tower of fame and the 'Vijay Stambh' or the tower of victory.
